WHO IS SOULQUEST CHURCH?

In 2006 when God began to plant the seed of SoulQuest Church in our hearts, we had no idea of how it would come to fruition. In 2014 we took that big step of faith with a big vision of reaching Jackson, West Tennessee and the world. Our "Whatever It Takes" vision drives us each and every day to reach as many people with the gospel as possible. We know that our church is not for everyone. However, if it's your desire to do "Whatever It Takes" to reach those far from God, welcome to the SoulQuest Team!!!! We are super pumped about the future and believe that the greatest days are still ahead of us!!!

Whatever it takes! Mark 2:1-12

Ronnie Coleman, Lead Pastor

MISSION

Doing whatever it takes to reach the unchurched and lost of Jackson, West Tennessee, and the world, and help them take their next step.

VISION

Reach 5,000 worshippers by the year 2025.

4GS

Growth - Build the church. When we are growing as individuals, we do whatever it takes to reach lost people. When we are doing whatever it takes to reach lost people, our church will grow as a result.

Gifts - Serve the church. Each Sunday, we see lives changed by the power of the Gospel. Each Sunday, we have individuals serving and using their gifts so others may hear the Gospel.

Groups - Be the church. Our groups are designed to be an evangelistic arm of SoulQuest. When you join a Dinner Party, you create new friendships, discuss Scripture, pray together, and reach out to others.

Generosity - Fund the church. When we are generous with our earthly possessions, we believe God will be generous in using our generosity to change someone else's eternity.

BELIEFS

Scripture - The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.

God - There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, holy, powerful, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Man - Man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God.

Salvation - Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. There is no salvation apart from personal faith in Jesus Christ as Lord.

The Church - A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the two ordinances of Christ, governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth.

The Lord's Supper & Baptism - Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Lord's Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the church, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, memorialize the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.

MINISTRIES

At SoulQuest, we believe in the power of simplicity around a focused vision. Because of this belief, we will concentrate our efforts on being excellent in a few things, instead of mediocre in a lot.

Weekend Experience - Our Sunday service is our big thing. We believe in offering an excellent experience that connects with everyone at any stage of life. Our Sundays are real, raw, and relevant.

Serve Teams - Our Serve Teams serve every Sunday to make SoulQuest the most welcoming environment that anyone enters all week long.

Dinner Parties - Our Dinner Parties are how we do community at SoulQuest. Dinner Parties are designed to build friendship, grow spiritual maturity, and create boldness. Each Dinner Party eats a meal, discusses the previous week's sermon, and prays.

Next Generation - We have three environments for the next generation, babies/toddlers, K-5th grade, and middle & high school. Each Sunday SQ babies works hard to love every child: infant through pre-school. Each Sunday SQ Kids works to connect K-5th graders with God and others: SQ Student’s helps middle and high schoolers own their faith and feel that they belong. They meet weekly for a service together.

SQ Outreach- This is our ministry to Jackson, West Tennessee, and the world. We partner with organizations financially to help provide for those in need. Each year we mobilize for Love Week to engage and encourage the city of Jackson.

STRUCTURE

SoulQuest Church is a Pastor and Staff led church. When we say that we are a pastor/ staff led church, we mean that some people are gifted and called by God to lead local churches.

Most likely, you did not grow up in a pastor/ staff led church, and have not been exposed to this structure. The primary reason SoulQuest is structured to be led by our pastor and staff is that the New Testament models this structure. Many churches in America have moved to a democratic form of church government, because of our democratic form of government as a nation. While this is effective for a nation, it is not the biblical model for a local church.

The church has been designed as a theocracy: a God-run organization in which He uses gifted and experienced leaders to carry forth His vision. In the Old and New Testaments, God hands the ball off to the leaders He has chosen to accomplish His vision.

There are many other educated opinions on how the church should be run. While we do not oppose other forms of government, we strongly believe in a pastor/ staff led church structure. The Apostles of the Early Church were held accountable, of course, but they were not held accountable by a group of people who did not understand their unique calling from God.

To us, the pastor/ staff led structure is the best as it allows the gifted and called leaders the freedom to lead God's people within the guard rails of built-in accountability. Other pastors often ask how we have grown so quickly. The simple answer: "We are set up for success!"

We refuse to get sucked into a divisive power play that can eventually destroy the ministry of a church. We take the ball of vision (Whatever It Takes) that God has given SoulQuest, we hand the ball off to the staff, and we let them run with it.

We believe in accountability for all staff. Our accountability structure has multiple layers. Each staff member is accountable to the Executive Team, and each Executive Team member is accountable to the Lead Pastor. Our Pastor is accountable to the Board of Directors made up of ordained men of God. To further illustrate this structure, see the graph below.
