For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality;  that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity, but in holiness. (1 Thessalonians 4:3-7) Read the whole chapter here.

Sometimes we think of the will of God as something far off, distant, or preplanned, but this passage starts off with telling us exactly what the will of God is for Believers - That you abstain from sexual immorality.

Pastor Ronnie said last Sunday, "God's plan for our life is abstinence outside of marriage, and faithfulness inside of marriage." That is what Paul is saying here.

Abstaining from sexual immorality isn't just for the single person and their boyfriend or girlfriend, it's also for the married couple. Abstaining from sexual immorality is deeper than just having sex with someone who isn't your spouse. Jesus actually says "everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

The challenge today is to look deep within, and decide to walk in the will of God by following the Word of God. When we follow the Word of God, the lusts in our life begin to decrease, and Jesus begins to increase.
